Nicholaston to Penmaen

This section is fairly easy walking, although the ground can become very muddy, and waterproof footwear is strongly recommended. The first 50 yards of the walk are along the busy South Gower road (A4118), so please take care, particularly with children.

Most of the Gower routes are operated by New Adventure Travel. Route 14 for Bishopston and Pennard is jointly operated by New Adventure Travel and First Cymru.

Parking: At Nicholaston, there is a very small car park with some additional space in a lay-by to the west of the church and also in a small area to the east on the opposite side of the road. There is ample parking at Penmaen. One needs to take the small road at the side of the church, cross the cattle grid and park on the area of common to the right.

Possible Refreshment Opportunity: Nicholaston House Christian Centre has a drop-in café (nicholastonhouse.org). There are camp sites at Penmaen, but no other public facilities.
