Penclawdd to Wernffrwd

Stage length: 2.8 miles Time: 60 minutes Level of Difficulty: Easy (not including steep walk from Penclawdd foreshore to St Gwynour’s Church)
By public transport you can take the 116 bus get near to St Gwynours alighting where Victoria Road meets Blue Anchor Road. Walk uphill and turn left into Llanyrnewedd to find the church at the end of the road. Note the bus travels through the village and loops up to St Gwynours and back down into Penclawdd.
If arriving by car you can park on the foreshore in Penclawdd all day for no charge. The 116 bus can bring you back here if doing a day walk.
To walk up to St Gwynours (see blue dots on map), exit left from the car park onto the B 4295 road. Walk through double bends with the forge on your right. At the last bend walk straight ahead into a short unnamed road.
This ends in a footpath which is steep with a handrail. This enters out onto Pen y Lan. Follow this road for 200yds until it comes to a crest, where you take an unnamed steep road on your right going up to Victoria Road . At the top turn left onto a road for about 100yds until you see steps on you right.
These steps arrive at Caban Isaac Rd. At the end continue straight ahead to Llanyrnewedd where St Gwynours is at the bottom of the hill.

Parking: At Penclawdd (Llanyrnewydd) there is a small parking area at the entrance to the churchyard and on street parking in the housing estate opposite. Also there is a large free sea-front car park at Penclawdd, which is only about 10 minutes walk away from Llanyrnewydd
Wernffrwd has a small parking area opposite the church.

Possible Refreshment Opportunity: There is a café, ice cream parlour, pub, a very good fish and chip shop and a medium sized supermarket in Penclawdd but no facilities at Wernffrwd
